The installation was based on the attempt to transform photographs into film sequences by giving them the attributes of duration and transformation. In so doing, ten different photographs of prison inmates were pixelated and enlarged so that they could be manually drawn on tracing paper using a felt tip pen. In this way, 20 to 50 reproductions of each motif emerged. These hand drawings were then transferred to a narrow film. These imprecisions and mistakes in copying become visible in the film at jumps in the image and generate the impression of a film sequence. In a certain sense, they are films that move in place.
