TUMBLING WALLS, 2007
3 film projections (16mm, looped), colored glass;
variable dimensions

The animated film shows a black rectangle that I painted onto my studio wall. I filmed that wall by taking individual shots on Super 8 film. From image to image, I changed the outlines of the rectangle, generating the impression that the black surface sways back and forth until it tips over. In so doing, three films were created that all differ somewhat in terms of perspective. These films were played in parallel in the installation and condense to form a single image. Each film is projected through colored glass that is leant against the projector lens.
